Starting weight: 80kg
Week 1's Weight: 74.5kg
Today's Weight: 69.2kg
Good Progress ...
My journey started in March before I joined the team here in week 1.
I am much closer to my initial goal now (pre pregnancy weight of 68.7kg). My long term goal (washboard abs) is also looking very possible)
The consistency here has helped a lot and I intend to keep on pushing.
Thank you @MadamSting for starting this.
And for everybody else..just keep doing the right things and remain patient.
Results will definitely come.

Week 2 - Atoskin
Hello Fitfam,
I am very delighted to know that i am making progress on my weight loss journey. Basically what i have been doing is eating a lot of beans, it used to be so much of hard work because i never liked beans. I have also reduced my carbohydrate intake, my portions are reduced and i drink a lot of water and use ribena as a substitute sometimes.
My routine exercise takes about 45 minutes daily. I haven't been faithful with it but i ensure that i exercise thrice in a week at least. I either jog for 45 mins or run up and down the stairs for thirty minutes.

Kaura's week 11 & 12
for week 11 I was as 182lbs
for week 12 I am at 181lbs
my diet has been neither here nor there, for these past 1-2 weeks. I may have started over-thinking it and then in reaction to that just felt like f$%k this whole weight loss business. But here I am again, I don't think I could ever really completely give up on trying to be healthier, no matter how annoying/tasking it can be. Goal this week is gradually remove the unhealthy food I've been eating.

I put up the post on Instagram and a few people asked me to share what I do on the blog. so here goes:
My diet has been out of wack for the past couple of weeks, mainly because my church fasted this month, and I pretty much ate whatever after breaking my fast. I'll get back on track next month though, so I'll share my workout routine instead.
I go to the gym 4 times a week.
Monday & Thursdays: chest, biceps, triceps, shoulder, back
Tuesdays & Fridays: Quads, glutes, hamstrings
Almost everytime I go in I do interval cardio for 25 minutes max (mostly I do 15 mins)
HIIT cardio: warmup 2 mins- walking at 3.0 mph
run 6.0mph for 1 minute, walk 3mph for 1-2 mins
run 7.0 mph for 1 minute, walk 3mph for 1-2 mins
I go all the way to 10 mph. at 10mph I do 30 secs to 45 secs.
cardio done! usually I'm sweating like a pig by the time I'm done, and it usually adds up to 1 mile.
Upper body workout: 1 hand row, bicep curls, overhead tricep dips, bench tricep dip, bench press, incline bench press, shoulder bench press, shoulder shrug.
All of this I do reps of 10 for 3 sets. I've increased the weights and decreased the reps to 8.
Lower body: weighted squats, weighted lunges, weighted step ups, dead lifts.

Yep...still on this weight loss thing.

Back at the gym today. It felt good.
Discovered "Cinnamon & Honey weight loss remedy"
I think that's what made me start losing again.
I've been on it for about 4 days now. I know the magic might not last long, but I'll take it!
Last official weigh in is next week.
My time frame for this journey is 1 year. It ends in March 2014.

Simple ways to lose weight naturally
I was searching for more information on Cumin Coriander and Fennel tea which my sister had told me a GI doc who came on Dr. Oz recommended to her patients for GI issues, then they found they also lost weight on it. I found this video on youtube. It doesn't give much info on the tea, it just mentions it, but i think the channel has stuff on weight loss. You can check it out if you want.

~Sirius~ Update
So I fell ill...and still had the energy to step on the scale!
I am addicted to my scale! I should throw away that piece of equipment far far away...
It's so bad that I weigh myself every morning after my bath and sometimes in the evenings too!
I also swear by the measuring tape and I feel like I'm stuck in the rut now.
I guess this is the hardest part- where you can't afford to give up.
My diet isn't as strict as it used to be.
I need to get back to my strict clean eating.
Deviating never really works for me, I always have a hard time going back.
I'm back to 70.0kg I went as low as 68.7kg when I fell ill.
What's strange is all my pre pregnancy clothes are now a bit lose, even though I weigh 2kg more now.
I guess that's one of the benefits of weight training.
I will keep updating here after the 29th, maybe not on a weekly basis.

Bumight: week 11
So I haven't really weighed myself in weeks. Infact, I took my scale out of the house. Last week I decided to weigh myself and I almost shrieked with joy when I saw 155 Ibs! I didn't take a picture then, but the very next day, the scale read 156 Ibs. See why I don't like the scale? It's not a very accurate representation as your weight tends to fluctuate on a daily basis depending on a lot of factors.
Anywhoos, here are my new stats
Weight: 156
Waist: 28
Navel: 29.5
Lower abdomen: 31
Hips: 39
Thighs: 20, 19.5
I'm still shrinking! Yay me! My new goal is to get a 6 pack! 2 packs in, 4 more to go! Lol
My diet has been ok, paying more attention to portion sizes. I had coldstone ice cream yesterday and soda. See, everytime I lose aight, I reward myself with bad food! Gotta stop checking the scale!!!!
On the excercise front, I only went to the gym twice. Lifted weights And did some HIIT cardio. I learnt on Friday that u don't need a lot of equipment to workout. I couldn't go to the gym where I normally do my squats, so I used a smaller gym. I did weighted lunges, squats, dead lifts and step ups with dumbbells. My ass still hurts! Love it!

Last weigh in coming up
So the last weigh in for this round is coming up 3 mondays from now, which is July 29th. So guys hurry up and catch up, or you could just record your final weight on that day if you haven't consistently weighed in. I think this has been very helpful for me, so i would like to start another round with anyone who's interested in continuing to keep track of their weight. I worked in an obesity research lab in undergrad and one of the tips i learnt was that, you have to weigh yourself regularly in order to maintain weight loss. I have weighed myself daily for years. I went from 154lbs in dec to 165lbs in March because i didn't weigh myself for those three months, so i wasn't aware i was steadily creeping back up. Weighing myself daily doesn't stress me out because i don't obsess over it, so i can do that comfortably.
I know it stresses some people out, so if you don't want to continue that's fine. We can continue to post recipes, tips, challenges like you guys have been doing. I am sorry i have been a waste these last couple of months but i can't promise my contribution is going to improve any time soon, so i am thankful to those of you who have stayed interested and kept this going.
I like Bumight's suggestion of creating an instagram page. I will create one when i get a chance and share the username and password when i have that done or someone else can do that if they have the time. We can use it to post before and after pictures, work out pictures, food, inspirational, whatever floats your boat.
So, July 29th, let's get on it.

Sting Week 11
When i saw this 2 days ago, i was ecstatic. I kept re-weighing myself and actually got two readings of 149.8. The last time i was below 153 was 2009. One of my goals this year was to get under 150lbs, i am almost there. I will do a back flip (mentally, of course, not trying to kill myself here), if i make it by next week. Then i would have to make new goals and try to maintain it this time.
Exercise, exercise, exercise, now we are about to become friends.

I was doing ok till yesterday I had some buns(puff puff) . 1st time in maybe 5years, and this really nice agege-like bread from some Ghanaian store. Anyhow, I must get back on track with controlling my portions. Anyhow that's my week

Do sports bras really work?
I thought I had it good with the bra I wore to work out, but Dang! My boob muscles are crying! Any sport bra recommendations please? My friend asked me to tie a pashmina around my bosom... I'll try that in my meantime. Abi?

My clothes are now loose! There's this pair of pants I have (size4) when I bought it, it fit snugly. I wore it to church and my pastor said it was too tight (which I disagreed on at that time, but story for another day). Now those pants are falling off my hips! I also have a pair of pants (size 6/8) that I wear quite often, noticed that it was falling off too, and the Boo actually said my butt looked small in it!, lol
I know store sizes are not uniform, but the common denominator is that my clothes are bigger, so I must be getting smaller! Abi?
I really haven't worked out this week. I only ran once this week (4 miles) and I hope to run on Saturday. My diet is crazy as my church just started our monthly fasting. The problem is I crave the absolute worst things when I break my fast! I've had pizza (thin crust tho) , cheesecake, fried rice, everything!
O well, I'm loving all my big clothes now! Hehehehe

Alice Week 10?
Not sure where i stopped, i was tired of weighing myself weekly, wasnt seeing results like i wanted and it was depressing, i think i took about 6 weeks off
June was crazy for me, traveled for about 3 weeks out of it and i had my grad so eating has been here and there.
Last time i weighed which was i think in week3?
i was at 186pounds
Well my current weight is now 178pounds, i am down 8 pounds and extremely happy.
i work out 5 days a week for about 2 hours
strength training 3 times weekly, i switch it up a lot
cardio is mostly 4-5 times a week, usually running, elliptical or steps
and i take 1 hot yoga class weekly to help my muscles relax
and a ball class for my core.
Goal weight is 155pounds so i am still a little over 20pounds short, but im happy :)

I am still stuck in the rut of eating cake and other "forbidden foods" like chin chin and biscuits.
So help me God.
Weight 71kg on Monday 72kg this morning. (up from 69.5)
Waist: 28"- No change I think
Hips: 40"
My workouts at the gym have gotten more intense.
Heavier weights
I couldn't lift my arm after yesterday's triceps & biceps work out.
I need to clean up my eating sooner than later before I lose it.
Gosh...10 kilos to go.
Why can't this be easier....

I missed recording my weight last week but this is where I am today. Been in a funk, but will keep keeping on. Will work harder this month.

I'm at 181lbs so down 5lbs from last time,
Ehm that's suprising, in a good way.I changed a few things this week, like I haven't been eating in the morning so my breakfast is more like a brunch, so as result i haven't been as hungry as I used to be, for some reason eating breakfast makes me hungry throughout the day. What else, I've been eating less than I used to but not much change in exercise, just walking. I haven't had things like juice or cereal but mostly things, like oatmeal, quinoa, frozen vegetables, grilled chicken, fruits (Apples),almonds and lot's of water. With the water I've been drink cold as well as hot (with a little lemon) and soymilk instead of dairy milk (more so for my skin than anything). That's my week 9 hopefully (fingers crossed) it's not a fluke.
