Green Smoothies

Hell Everyone!

How are y'all doing?

Late last year, I discovered Green Smoothies. Since then, I have even done a 3 day smoothie cleanse with great results. I have noticed an increased in energy, better sleep and improved bowel regularity (yep! it's all about the fiber!!!).

I decided to share some of my favorites green smoothie recipes in case anyone wanted to try. I make mine to be filling and balanced. I also add ginger and sometime cayenne pepper as the mood strikes me. Enjoy!

1. Beginner's Green Smoothie
1 cup Spinach
1 cup frozen fruit (pineapple or mango) or 1 banana (frozen)
1 - 1.5 cups of Unsweetened almond milk
1 teaspoon of Almond butter
1 teaspoon Chia seeds
1 teaspoon milled Flax seeds

Note: Eat this with two eggs for a balanced meal.

2. Protein Green Smoothie
1 cups of  Spinach/Kale/Swiss Chard
1/4 - 1/2 cup rolled oats (Old Fashioned)
1 cup frozen fruit
1 - 1.5 cups Unsweetened almond milk
1 serving Vanilla Protein Powder
1 teaspoon Almond butter
1 teaspoon chia seeds
1 teaspoon milled flax seeds.

Note: I use this as a light meal replacement or snack.

3. Low Carb Green Smoothie
2 cups Spinach/Kale/Swiss Chard
1/4 - 1/2 cup Old-Fashioned rolled oats
1 serving Low Carb protein powder (I'm currently using Cellucor Cor-Performance why in Whipped Vanilla).
1 tablespoon Chia seeds
1 tablespoon MCT oil (or other fat or choice e.g  Almond Butter or an Avocado)
1 - 1.5 cups Unsweetened Almond milk (for more calories use Coconut Milk)

Note: This has no fruits and is great for people watching their sugar intake (My personal fave)

4. Post-Workout Recovery Green Smoothie
1 cup Spinach/Kale
1 - 1.5 cups Coconut Water (no added sugars)
1/2 - 1 frozen Banana
1 teaspoon Chia seeds

If y'all try it, let me know how it works out for you!
